Perfect Crown received 45 votes in a negative television drama category in JoyNews24’s industry survey, Tuoi Tre reported. Conducted from October 15–21, the survey involved 142 South Korean entertainment workers, including company staff, broadcasters, producers and journalists.

An industry sample rather than a national verdict

The result put Perfect Crown ahead of The Scandal and Our Sticky Love, which tied next with nine votes each. It records opinions within the surveyed group rather than a representative vote of all South Korean viewers or an official award.

JoyNews24 organised the survey for its 22nd anniversary, covering films, television, programmes and performers in 2026. That context matters when comparing the findings with audience measurement.

Ratings alongside criticism

Starring IU and Byeon Woo Seok, Perfect Crown imagines a twenty first century South Korea under a constitutional monarchy. Its romance involves a wealthy commoner and a prince facing restrictions despite his royal position.

Tuoi Tre reported a peak television rating of 13.8%, alongside criticism of familiar plotting, abrupt developments and performances. It also recounted controversy over historical elements and apologies from the production team and lead actors. Those are attributed accounts of the debate around a fictional story.

The Scandal and Our Sticky Love offer different settings and premises, but appeared together in the same survey results.

Further discussion of these dramas should keep the measures distinct: the survey captures the views of a defined industry sample, while ratings measure television viewing. The contrast between them is the central feature of Perfect Crown’s reported reception.
