Fan Bingbing wears a Phan Huy gown inspired by Hue's Perfume River in ELLE Malaysia's November issue. VnExpress described the ice-grey design's curved hips and hand-embellished layers of tulle, which fall into a soft train.
Structure beneath the flowing layers
Phan Huy told Tuoi Tre that the dress belongs to his Spring Summer 2026 Couture collection, presented during Paris Haute Couture Week. An internal corsetry structure supports the fitted upper body, sculpted hips and gently widening skirt.
Horizontal tulle layers run across the dress, creating volume along the hips and lower section. The longer train adds movement behind the wearer.
The designer said the arrangement evokes changes in the river's flow. Construction and embellishment were coordinated to preserve the garment's shape while allowing flexible movement.
An ongoing connection with Vietnamese couture
VnExpress reported that Fan first became interested in Phan Huy's work after seeing his collection in Paris in early 2025. She subsequently selected his designs for international film events.
Tuoi Tre recalled appearances in Bangkok on March 29 and at the 2026 Far East Film Festival. Those earlier looks used hand-applied organza leaves, stones, crystals and draping to build their forms.
Fan told VnExpress that Vietnamese designers combine techniques learned abroad with their own creativity and cultural influences. Phan Huy, from Quang Tri, frequently draws on childhood memories of rural landscapes and nature.
Following the spring-summer collection, he has continued his sculptural, craft-led approach in Fall/Winter 2026-2027 Couture, extending the visual language seen in his international fashion work.
