Phuong My Chi released Gao cua ta on October 14 in collaboration with production group DTAP and director Kawaii Tuan Anh. Thanh Nien reported that the music video uses rice as a central image connecting childhood, growing up and Vietnamese cultural traditions.

Fields, family meals and different paths

The narrative begins with imagery from Made in Vietnam, a music project the singer joined in 2025. It then returns to a rural setting of rice fields, harvests and family meals.

Rice represents both farmers' labour and the connection between memories of home and the pursuit of a career. Rather than remaining solely a performance video, the production follows a broader coming-of-age story.

It also introduces childhood friends who later take different paths, including music, medicine, engineering and family life. Their shared background links those choices, even as their individual journeys diverge.

Traditional materials in contemporary music

DTAP's music combines traditional elements with a modern presentation. The team uses the rice motif to highlight perseverance and cultural experiences associated with Vietnam's wet-rice civilisation.

The project continues Phuong My Chi's interest in bringing familiar Vietnamese cultural material to younger audiences through contemporary storytelling. Its family and hometown themes provide the common thread across the visual narrative.

Thanh Nien reported that the video passed 200,000 YouTube views after more than 20 hours online. That figure describes the point recorded by the source rather than an updated lifetime total.

The report also cited positive viewer comments about the relationship between the vocals, production and cultural imagery. Those are individual audience responses accompanying the release, rather than a comprehensive assessment of public opinion.
