October 20 share-price movement

PNJ shares reversed an early decline and reached their daily ceiling at 19,750 dong before the close on October 20, according to the market report. More than 16 million shares changed hands, worth over 315 billion dong.

The stock finished with more than four million shares waiting to buy at the ceiling and no sell offers at that level. Foreign investors recorded net purchases of more than 3.5 million shares. These are session-specific trading figures, not a live order book or an investment recommendation.

The move came one day before an extraordinary shareholder meeting to consider the jeweller's rebuilding plans after its diamond-related incident.

Proposed changes remain subject to approval

PNJ planned to propose reducing its annual revenue target by about 20% to roughly 39 trillion dong. A provision of more than 7.071 trillion dong for its exchange policy would turn the proposed after-tax plan from a 3.4 trillion dong profit into a 6.271 trillion dong loss.

Other proposals included reducing the previous year's dividend rate from 20% to 10% and privately placing up to 550 million shares for working capital and development over three years. These are matters for shareholder consideration, rather than approved changes or final annual results.

The wider VN-Index rose by more than two points to nearly 1,692, while market turnover was about 13.2 trillion dong. That broader market context accompanied PNJ's session but does not establish why every investor traded or predict subsequent prices.
