Different stages of implementation
Techcombank's plan combines a 50% stock dividend with an employee share programme. Its charter capital would rise from VND70.86 trillion to almost VND106.6 trillion if implemented. The report does not identify that planned increase as already completed.
VPBank raised its capital from VND79.3 trillion to VND100 trillion at the end of September through a 26% issue to existing shareholders. It also plans a private placement of more than 624 million shares to foreign investors. MB completed an issue to existing shareholders, taking its capital to approximately VND100.7 trillion.
More capital plans remain ahead
The report links capital increases to capital-adequacy requirements and room for lending and longer-term investment. Stock dividends and shareholder issues are among the methods being used; a headline increase does not necessarily mean the entire amount is fresh external cash.
VnExpress put Vietcombank's charter capital above VND83.55 trillion, with VietinBank and BIDV around VND77.7 trillion and Agribank at VND51.6 trillion. State-backed banks also have capital plans at different stages. These comparisons concern charter capital, not a ranking of assets, credit quality or profitability. Completion notices remain the relevant next step for transactions still described as plans.
