Thailand's Puripol Boonson won the men's 200 metres at the 2026 Asian Games in 19.88 seconds on September 27. VnExpress reported that the time broke the Games record, equalled the Asian record and made him the first Southeast Asian to run the event in under 20 seconds.
Boonson had already won the men's 100 metres at the same Games. The two medals came in separate sprint events.
