Quách Thành Danh says younger singers benefit from improved training, technology and arrangements but should keep lyrics understandable when reinterpreting songs. His comments accompany his work with contestants on Người kể chuyện tình, in an episode scheduled for THVL1 on October 22.
Updating songs while retaining their meaning
The singer believes excessive ornamentation or rapid phrasing can make words difficult to follow. He advises clear pronunciation and respect for the work's content and spirit. In his view, natural, restrained delivery can remain moving when it serves the song's story.
These observations reflect his experience across several competition seasons. He also acknowledges that better technical resources and musical arrangements give current performers opportunities to develop and feel confident on stage.
Lessons from difficult periods
Looking back, he considers leaving university studies for music a major turning point. His family did not initially want him to become a singer, but his interest led him toward that career. Difficult periods later made him consider quitting, before becoming experiences from which he learned.
Audience affection remains a reason to continue. He says listeners still request multiple songs at his shows, encouraging further effort. He defines success partly through suitable goals, contentment and happiness rather than fame alone.
Alongside work, he makes time for his wife and five children. He stresses kindness, sincerity and professional ethics as foundations for lasting audience support. His advice is to take chosen work seriously and act on ambitions without unnecessary delay. These are personal views from his career, not a judgment about every young singer.
