Barcelona have confirmed that Rodri has a mild right hamstring injury and will miss their match away to Atlético Madrid. SGGP Thể thao reports that the club did not give a date for the midfielder's return.
What Barcelona have confirmed
Rodri came off at halftime after experiencing muscular discomfort, according to SGGP. Bongda24h identifies the match as Barcelona's 3-0 Champions League win over Aston Villa on 3 November. The club announced the result of medical tests the following day.
Both outlets report that Barcelona ruled him out against Atlético. Media estimates of an absence of around a month remain estimates: the club has not confirmed that duration, and recovery will determine when he can return.
Midfield choices and international schedule
SGGP says Rodri had started 11 of Barcelona's first 14 games of the season at the time of publication and often partnered Pedri in midfield. SGGP identifies Marc Bernal, Gavi and Frenkie de Jong among the midfield options available when Rodri is absent.
The same source credits Bernal with 505 minutes across 13 appearances and two assists. Those figures do not confirm the lineup Hansi Flick will choose against Atlético. Rodri joined Barcelona from Manchester City during the summer and was part of the Spain side that beat Argentina 1-0 in the 2026 World Cup final.
Spain are scheduled to meet the Czech Republic on 12 November and England on 15 November, Bongda24h reports. Rodri's availability for those internationals remains unconfirmed.
