Sega and Lingokids plan to launch five Sonic the Hedgehog games on Lingokids on December 3, Variety reported. Another five are scheduled for spring 2027 as part of the continuing partnership.

Characters and proposed activities

Developed by Sega and Lingokids Studios, the first games feature Sonic, Amy, Eggman and Chao. Studio head Mathias Royer described spelling and letter recognition, action verbs in Green Hill Zone, exploration of fruit and flowers, and painting scenes with the characters.

Those descriptions set out the developers’ intended activities. The report does not supply independent learning outcome measurements for children who use the unreleased games.

Royer said family demand and searches for Sonic on the platform helped motivate the collaboration. Lingokids’ own 2026 report placed Sonic second among boys aged 3–8 in its character popularity findings. That is a platform reported result rather than a ranking of all children worldwide.

A younger audience for the franchise

Sega of America executive Hez Chorba described an age focused interactive experience with no advertising or chat and content reviewed by education experts. These are the partners’ statements about the product’s design.

Lingokids says it serves more than 20 million children monthly and has reached nearly 200 million downloads, with over 4,000 games, shows and songs. Those figures concern the wider platform rather than the Sonic games alone.

Next comes the December 3 launch, followed by the planned spring group. Product announcements will provide the point for checking the available versions and regional store access alongside the stated release schedule.
