Stephen Curry passed Oscar Robertson for 17th on the NBA's all-time scoring list during Golden State's 120-100 home win over Miami, NBA.com reported. The Warriors guard reached the milestone with a three-pointer with 7:03 left in the first quarter.
The basket gave Curry his 26,711th career point, taking him past Robertson's 26,710. Curry finished the game with 29 points, making six of his 12 three-point attempts. It was Golden State's sixth consecutive win at the time of the NBA report.
A milestone from beyond the arc
Curry made nine of his 19 field-goal attempts against the Heat. His scoring helped the Warriors to a home victory on the same night he moved ahead of one of the league's historical greats.
Six days earlier, he had scored 31 in a 112-95 NBA Cup win over the Los Angeles Lakers. That performance took him past Dominique Wilkins, who had 26,668 points, and into 18th place. The Miami game brought another step up the list in the NBA.com account.
The players ahead
DeMar DeRozan was 16th and Hakeem Olajuwon 15th in the source's snapshot. The order can change as players add points, so those positions should be read at the time of the report.
NBA.com also noted that Curry had scored at least 1,630 points in five of his previous six seasons. In the other, injuries limited him to 43 games and 1,142 points. Passing Robertson was completed against Miami; reaching the next names depends on points scored in games still to come.
