Sun PhuQuoc Airways plans to launch direct flights between Phu Quoc and Ahmedabad on December 2, initially operating five times a week. Tickets went on sale on October 16, but commercial operation of the airline's first India route remains scheduled for a future date, VnExpress reported.
The connection would offer Indian travellers direct access to Phu Quoc and another option for passengers from Vietnam travelling to western India.
Planned timetable and service
Flight 9G315 is scheduled to leave Phu Quoc at 19:35 and reach Ahmedabad at 23:30 local time. Return flight 9G314 is listed as departing Ahmedabad at 01:00 and arriving in Phu Quoc at 07:15. Each airport's time is local, rather than expressed in one shared time zone.
The airline plans services on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays, followed by daily operation from early February 2027. It intends to use Airbus A321neo aircraft.
According to the carrier, meals designed for Indian passengers exclude beef and pork, with chicken, fish, vegetarian and requested Halal options. The fare information described includes 23 kilograms of checked baggage and seven kilograms of cabin baggage.
India market expansion
The report cited approximately 150,000 Indian visits to Phu Quoc in 2025 and 746,000 Indian arrivals across Vietnam that year. These are historical market figures, not passenger results for the proposed service.
Ahmedabad, a major city in Gujarat, has a UNESCO-listed historic centre and sites associated with Mahatma Gandhi. The carrier also outlined ambitions for more Indian destinations in the first quarter of 2027. Those additions and increased frequencies remain plans.
