People's Artist Tạ Minh Tâm says he has continued working around one hundred days after the death of his wife, artist Bạch Vân. In a new interview, he acknowledged private moments of sadness while thanking colleagues and audiences for their support.

Working at his own pace

Recent appearances include the Mai Vàng awards launch and the programme Khúc tri ân. Born in 1960, he says he still enjoys doing work he loves and feels no need to rush through life or treat success as anything beyond experience.

He values the professional skills and audience affection accumulated over his career. He describes art as socially useful work like other occupations, with public visibility adding exposure rather than replacing effort and responsibility.

Tạ Minh Tâm says circumstance, good fortune and personal effort led him into music. Although he did little deliberate self-promotion earlier in his career, he does not recommend that approach universally to students working in today's environment.

Teaching skills and professional values

He takes pride in former students who have become performers and teachers. Alongside technique, he stresses character, professional ethics and contribution to society as values he hopes to pass on.

Discussing his wife, he chose to limit detail because he regards those feelings as private. He appreciates sincere encouragement but does not want others to worry excessively. His account describes personal choices, not a mental-health diagnosis. The current interview concerns his continuing artistic life; the bereavement itself occurred months earlier.
