Thailand reach Asian Games men’s football quarter-finals early
Thailand’s under-23 side beat Hong Kong 5–1 and Japan defeated Kyrgyzstan 7–0 in Asian Games men’s football Group A on September 20. Both have six points and secured quarter-final places early; their September 23 meeting decides first place.

Thailand’s under-23 side beat Hong Kong 5–1 in their second Asian Games men’s football Group A match on September 20. Japan defeated Kyrgyzstan 7–0 in the other fixture.
Both teams have six points and secured quarter-final places with one match remaining. Japan lead on goal difference, +9 compared with Thailand’s +5. Their September 23 meeting will settle first place, with Thailand needing a win to move above Japan.
