Thai Nguyen have been confirmed as champions of Vietnam's 2026 national men's club golf tournament following a November 3 results decision. SGGP reports that organisers invalidated singles match B28 and the play-off between Thai Nguyen and G83.
The competition itself took place at Tam Dao in Phu Tho from October 29 to 31. The new decision changes the final classification after that event.
Revised points determine the title
Before the B28 adjustment, Thai Nguyen and G83 each had 10.5 points and contested a play-off, initially won by G83.
The revision leaves Thai Nguyen on 10.5 points and G83 on ten. With the play-off also invalidated, Thai Nguyen become champions. G83 share second with the Le family club on ten points, while the northern Nguyen family club place third with 9.5.
Organisers refer the case onward
B28 involved G86's Vu Quang Hai and G83's Ho Son Hai. According to the decision described by SGGP, the players agreed to end the match before completing the holes, recorded scores inconsistent with actual play and did not notify officials or organisers.
Organisers considered the conduct inconsistent with golf's sporting standards and issued reminders to both players.
They also recommended that the Vietnam Golf Association's standing committee examine the verification report and related documents to decide whether further measures within its authority are appropriate.
That review is the next stage. The tournament's title and placings meanwhile follow the adjusted points recorded in the organisers' decision.
