Vietnam is prioritising three rail connections with China: Hà Nội–Đồng Đăng, Lào Cai–Hà Nội–Hải Phòng and Hải Phòng–Hạ Long–Móng Cái, Báo Chính phủ reported on 12 October. Authorities are coordinating planning and links to ports and logistics corridors. The article also records growth in existing international rail freight during 2025. Existing cross-border services and the proposed new lines are different stages; the report does not establish that all three projects are complete.
