Universal and Blumhouse negotiate River deal worth more than $10 million
Universal Pictures and Blumhouse Atomic Monster are negotiating to acquire River's distribution rights for more than $10 million, Variety reported after its TIFF premiere.
Joshua Giuliano's debut horror feature stars Jane Levy, Jessica Rothe and Max Mattern as estranged siblings reunited after their father's death. A trip to scatter his ashes turns nightmarish when their boat breaks down.
Independent Film Company and Shudder originally backed the project. The report describes a deal being finalised, rather than an announced completed transaction.
