Vietnam Ecommerce Summit 2026 is scheduled for December 7 at Hanoi’s National Convention Center, with around 3,000 in-person participants expected. The Government News reported free admission for businesses, household businesses, individual traders and others in ecommerce.
Policy and taxation on the agenda
The Industry and Trade Ministry’s ecommerce department leads the event, with VECOM implementing it and Sapo co-organising. Government communications and ecommerce-tax bodies provide support, alongside TikTok Shop and MB.
Planned policy discussions cover seller identification, verification, livestreaming, affiliate marketing and the responsibilities of participating parties. Tax sessions address declarations, payments, electronic invoices and revenue across multiple sales channels.
One specific topic is distinguishing revenue on which platforms have withheld and paid tax from revenue sellers must declare themselves. A direct tax-advice area is intended to let participants raise practical cases alongside the general sessions.
Operational discussions look towards 2027
Speakers are expected to discuss branding, livestream commerce, affiliate marketing and AI. Advertising costs, profit failing to keep pace with revenue and difficulties controlling expansion are among the proposed operating topics.
The Growth Market area will showcase technology and services and provide networking opportunities. Organisers also announced 3,000 activity-linked gift packages valued at VND2 million each; that is not an unconditional entitlement for every registrant.
The next milestone is the December 7 programme itself. It precedes National Ecommerce Day on December 12 rather than taking place on that date. Discussions are intended to inform sellers’ 2027 plans, with practical outcomes dependent on subsequent implementation.
