Vietnam’s industrial production grew 11.9% in January–August 2026 compared with the same period a year earlier, according to a September 8 VietnamPlus report citing national statistics. Businesses nevertheless faced expensive inputs and difficulty accessing capital and premises.
The Government’s September 3 review put eight-month goods trade at USD 770.14 billion, up 28.7% year on year. Registered foreign investment reached USD 40.63 billion; disbursed investment was USD 17.25 billion. The latter measures capital put into projects, while registration records commitments.
Public investment disbursement was close to VND 510 trillion, or 49.8% of the annual plan. These are eight-month measures, rather than a final assessment of full-year growth.
