VinSpeed has signed a €1 billion contract, worth approximately US$1.15 billion, with Siemens for the Hanoi–Quảng Ninh and Bến Thành–Cần Giờ railway projects, VnExpress reported on September 23. Siemens Mobility will supply the trains, while VinSpeed will build the tracks.

The contract follows a framework agreement covering rolling stock, signalling, communications and power systems. VinSpeed is targeting commercial operations on both routes in 2028. That date remains the company’s planned start of service.
