VPF has asked 28 V.League and first-division clubs for views on a revised 2026/27 calendar. Bongda24h reports that the 4 November proposal considers matches close to Tet and an April 2027 finish, approximately two weeks earlier than the current plan.
Changes considered from round 14
The proposal follows the Asian Cup's move to late 2027 and early 2028. That changes the need for the long domestic break originally reserved for Vietnam's national-team programme in early 2027.
VPF is considering V.League adjustments from round 14, at roughly one match per week. Subject to VFF approval, clubs would play through round 17 before the Tet break rather than use the full previously planned interruption from late December to mid-February.
The National Cup round of 16 would follow Tet, before the V.League and first division resume. An April finish is under consideration for both league competitions.
Approval and registration dates
Sai Gon Giai Phong also reports that these remain proposals awaiting VFF consideration. VPF will issue the official schedule after approval.
The company has additionally proposed bringing forward the second player-registration period to match the revised calendar. That links fixture planning with clubs' mid-season personnel preparations.
The next stage is club feedback, VFF consideration and publication of an approved calendar. The consultation therefore concerns both playing dates and squad planning for the 28 professional clubs. Further competition updates are available through V.League fixtures.
