Vietnam exported 6.4 million tonnes of rice worth USD3.11 billion in the first nine months of 2026, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment. Volume fell 6.1% and value declined 10.9% year on year. Within that overall picture, VietnamPlus reports a 98.9-fold rise in export value to Iraq. The sharp increase in one destination market should be distinguished from the decline in the sector's total export receipts during the same period.
