Electone links different musical colours

The programme opened with Trọng Bằng's “Chào mừng” overture, performed by Lê Quỳnh, Nishioka Natsuko and Yukino Ichikawa. Subsequent repertoire included Bach's D-minor Concerto BWV 1052, Tchaikovsky's First Piano Concerto and excerpts from Bizet's “Carmen”.

Works by Chopin, Astor Piazzolla and Richard Galliano added further styles. The report highlighted Electone's range of timbres and its combination with other instruments through arrangements. This describes an artistic approach rather than a ranking of instruments or performers.

Honouring foundations and transmission

International participants included Japan's Nishioka and Ichikawa, China's Zhang Le and South Korea's Kim Dajeong, alongside Vietnamese teachers and artists. The programme recognised figures who helped establish Electone teaching at the academy in the 1990s, including Trọng Bằng, Trần Thu Hà and Lưu Quang Minh.

Towards the end, Huy Du's “Anh vẫn hành quân” appeared in an arrangement by Lưu Quang Minh before “Champagne Galop” closed the evening.
