Three Chinese entertainers have worn pieces by Vietnamese designer Trần Hùng that take different approaches to handwork. Tuổi Trẻ reports that Song Yaxuan and Fan Chengcheng chose crochet garments with floral details, while Zhang Kangle wore a feathered suit on the Harper’s Bazaar 2026 red carpet. The suit comes from the designer’s spring and summer 2027 collection.
Crochet with two kinds of floral detail
Fan wore a fully hand-crocheted top with a satin orchid attached at the shoulder. The orchid provides a single focal point, using a different material from the fabric beneath it. This was his fourth appearance in a Trần Hùng design, according to Tuổi Trẻ.
The garment Song selected distributed crocheted flowers and leaves across the design. Trần Hùng told the newspaper that this piece took more than five weeks to complete. It was the second time Song had chosen one of his designs.
Feathers on the red carpet
For Zhang, the designer applied peacock feathers to an East Asian-inspired suit. The decoration sits on a tailored silhouette, giving the garment a different treatment from the crochet tops. Zhang wore it to the Bazaar event, while the other two pieces appeared separately.
Tuổi Trẻ says Trần Hùng has released more than 18 collections, 14 of which have appeared on the London Fashion Week website. One of his spring and summer 2026 collections was shown at Christ Church Spitalfields in London. The suit from the following spring and summer collection offers a specific example of how he has carried decorative handwork into his tailoring.
