BigBang has been confirmed for the November 21 programme at MAMA 2026 in Osaka, Japan. Tuoi Tre reported on October 16 that the group was included in the event's second performer announcement.
The ceremony runs on November 20–21 at Kyocera Dome Osaka under the theme A Music Interstellar. Organisers describe it as connecting different periods and generations of K-pop. Inclusion in the performance lineup is separate from winning an award.
A twentieth-anniversary appearance
The report identified BigBang's current members as G-DRAGON, Taeyang and Daesung. Their appearance comes during the group's twentieth-anniversary year.
BigBang previously appeared at MAMA 2024. G-DRAGON attended as a solo artist in 2025 and won three awards, including a Daesang. Those were results from the earlier ceremony, not awards already determined for 2026.
The new announcement places Allday Project, CL, Hearts2Hearts, LNGSHOT and Treasure in Chapter 1 on November 20. BigBang joins Hwasa, IVE, izna, KiiiKiii, WOODZ and &TEAM in Chapter 2 the following day.
Performers and nominees
Organisers had previously announced twelve groups, including ENHYPEN, Le Sserafim and Zerobaseone. The second list continues to combine established performers with newer acts.
Nominations were separately released on October 12. According to the report, BigBang's BiiiG was nominated in male-group dance performance and music-video categories. BTS's 2.0 also received a music-video nomination, while BTS appeared among male-group and artist-of-the-year nominees.
Those nominations provide award context. The October 16 announcement concerns planned performances, with the ceremony and its final results still ahead.
