The Ministry of Industry and Trade will continue urging local authorities to introduce support policies for rooftop solar, according to comments at the October 3 government press briefing reported by VnExpress. Deputy Minister Trương Thanh Hoài said electricity demand grows by around 10% annually, while generation and grid projects take time to develop. Rooftop systems can be installed more quickly and reduce transmission pressure. Existing capacity was put at approximately 11,000 MWp, with further development requiring coordination with power-system planning.
