Modest cumulative receipts

The same account put cumulative revenue near VND2.4 billion after more than 20 days in cinemas. It described weak sales and a risk of losses, but did not provide the complete production and distribution costs needed to calculate an actual loss.

Directed by Lê Công Sơn, the comedy-horror film features performers including Tiểu Bảo Quốc, Kiều Linh, Quỳnh Lý and Trâm Anh. Its fictional plot follows a property employee seeking promotion who must revive an old theatre facing abandonment.

Competition provides additional context

Thanh Niên contrasted the performance with “Trại buôn người”, released on 25 September and reported above VND427.2 billion at that snapshot. The competing film also had more than 60,000 tickets and roughly VND4.6 billion in the 14 October figures cited. Those numbers describe the market then, not guaranteed future sales.

New arrivals, including “Quỷ ăn tạng 4: Hổ tinh”, were also affecting screening availability. Updated schedules and revenue will establish what happens next for “Bóng ma nhà hát”. Two screenings at one point do not themselves prove a completed nationwide withdrawal. The accompanying Trâm Anh image is a film still, not financial evidence.
