Singer Tùng Dương's concert at Mỹ Đình National Stadium sold all 15,000 tickets on the first day they went on sale, VnExpress reported on 28 October. The show, titled Bay về phía mặt trời (roughly, Flying Toward the Sun), will take place on 19 December. According to VnExpress, online ticket sales will stay open until the day of the concert, with nine price tiers ranging from 1.3 million to 12 million dong.

On the evening of 28 October, the singer said he was moved by the response. He described every ticket as a sign of the audience's trust in his music, and said that happiness came with pressure and a responsibility for his team to deliver a night worthy of fans' expectations.

From theatres to the national stadium

VnExpress notes that, after Mỹ Tâm, Tùng Dương is one of very few Vietnamese singers to stage a solo live concert at the national stadium. All of his previous solo shows were held in theatres. Moving to a 40,000-seat venue gives his team two problems at once: building a stage and sound system for an open-air show, and filling the stands. The singer said he was leaving his comfort zone to balance his own musical identity with mainstream taste. He had already drawn attention for going to a BigBang concert to study how the Korean group works a stadium crowd.

A career that began in 2004

Tùng Dương, 43, rose to fame through the Sao Mai Điểm hẹn singing contest in 2004. Critics credit him with a powerful voice and a distinctive style. He has released six studio albums, staged 11 liveshows and won a string of major awards. More recently he has drawn attention with songs about the homeland such as Viết tiếp câu chuyện hòa bình and Một vòng Việt Nam, while his song Tái sinh made the top 10 most-searched songs of 2025.

What comes next

The singer and music director Nguyễn Hữu Vượng have finalised the setlist, and Tùng Dương is training his voice and fitness as well as rehearsing choreography. The programme will pair rousing, patriotic works with contemporary tracks from an upcoming album that shares the concert's name. He has already released the new songs Nếu cả đời không rực rỡ thì sao? and Đậm sâu, and plans to release Hàng vạn năm ánh sáng in early November. Fans without tickets can still buy through the online distribution system until 19 December, VnExpress said.
