Ho Chi Minh City women's club are scheduled to meet Hwacheon KSPO in their final AFC Women’s Champions League Group B match at 15:30 Vietnam time on 7 November, according to Bongdaplus. The Vietnamese side had no points after two games, while the South Korean club had three.
The group before the last round
Bongdaplus reports that Hwacheon beat East Bengal 4-1 after losing their opening fixture. SGGP Thể thao says Hwacheon and East Bengal each had three points before the final round, while April 25 had six. East Bengal also meet April 25 on 7 November.
Ho Chi Minh City had lost both of their opening matches and were bottom of the group when the reports were published. The standings describe the position before the final games, not the final outcome of the group.
How qualification works
Bongdaplus and SGGP Thể thao report that the top two teams in each group and the two best third-placed sides across the three groups advance to the quarterfinals. Ho Chi Minh City therefore need a favourable result against Hwacheon and would also depend on other results and the applicable ranking criteria to remain in contention.
SGGP Thể thao discusses a possible scenario in which several Group B teams finish on three points. That remains conditional on the matches being played. Neither the result nor the confirmed lineups for Ho Chi Minh City's meeting with Hwacheon were known when the sources were published. Follow more Vietnam football news.
