Cong An TP.HCM missed a chance to join the V.League leaders on 1 November, losing 1-0 at home to SHB Da Nang in the last match of round 6 of the 2026/27 V.League. Centre-back Matias Fracchia headed in a first-half corner from Bryan Ly, and the hosts then struck the crossbar 3 times without finding an equaliser.

A night of near misses

Coach Arthur Diles fielded his strongest line-up, including Patrik Le Giang, Dinh Quang Kiet, Khoa Ngo, Aldair Ferreira, Jason Cummings and Olaha Manh Duc, after back-to-back wins over The Cong Viettel and Ninh Binh. Da Nang, coming off a 1-0 win over Ha Noi FC, scored from their one real set-piece chance and then defended deep.

Reports from VnExpress, Tuoi Tre and Dan Tri agree on the 3 crossbar hits: a header around the 60th minute, a Williams Minh Hoang header on 74 minutes and a close-range Cummings header in the 90+2nd minute. Thanh Nien counted four efforts off the frame in all. Goalkeeper Do Sy Huy was Da Nang's hero, at one point clearing the ball off the line. VnExpress adds that Dinh Quang Kiet escaped with a yellow card late on, even after a VAR check, for a foul that stopped a Da Nang player running through on goal.

Two coaches, two readings

Da Nang coach Le Duc Tuan openly called it a lucky win, crediting the home side's dangerous crosses. He also revealed that Bryan Ly and Yvo had food poisoning before kick-off: Bryan Ly was sick on the pitch, while Yvo played the full game, and Tuan said both had sacrificed themselves for the team.

Diles refused to blame luck. According to Bongda24h, the Australian said his team simply were not good enough and needed better crosses, decisions in the final third and finishing against an opponent defending in numbers.
