Round 5 of LPBank V.League 1 2026/27 will finish with two games kicking off at 18:00 on 25 October 2026: Ninh Bình host Công an TP.HCM, and Đà Nẵng host Hà Nội FC. Unbeaten Ninh Bình, who have played only 4 games, would overtake Sông Lam Nghệ An at the top by taking all 3 points. In the other match, SGGP believes Đà Nẵng coach Lê Đức Tuấn's job will come under serious threat if his side fail to get a positive result; that is the paper's assessment, not a statement from the club.

Ninh Bình v Công an TP.HCM: a chance to go top
Chu Đình Nghiêm's Ninh Bình needed a 90th-minute winner to beat HAGL 4-3 in round 4 after the sides were level at 2-2 at half-time, Bongdaplus reported. The hosts will be without foreign player Lucas Turci, who is suspended after a red card. Công an TP.HCM coach Diles Arthur will be missing Nguyễn Đức Phú for the same reason. The visitors beat Thể Công Viettel 1-0 in round 4, but Bongdaplus noted their form has been patchy, including a 0-1 defeat by Bắc Ninh and a 1-1 draw with Sông Lam Nghệ An.
On the head-to-head, Bongdaplus said Ninh Bình have only been in the V.League since the 2025/26 season, so the clubs have met just 4 times, each winning once with two draws.
Đà Nẵng v Hà Nội: pressure on Lê Đức Tuấn
The game will be played at the Chi Lăng Stadium, according to Thanh Niên and Bongdaplus. Đà Nẵng caused a surprise by beating Nam Định 3-0 in round 2, but have since lost 0-3 to HAGL and 1-5 to Hải Phòng at home, conceding 8 goals in two games. SGGP argued that the departures of key players such as striker Milan Makaric, centre-back Đỗ Phi Long and full-back Nguyễn Phi Hoàng left big gaps. In the paper's view, striker Ivan Saponjic has been inconsistent and Nguyễn Minh Quang and Võ Nguyên Hoàng have made little impact, with Vietnamese-heritage midfielder Bryan Ly, who has 2 goals, the rare bright spot. Goalkeeper Bùi Tiến Dũng is back, but SGGP said the centre-back pairing of 33-year-old Quế Ngọc Hải and 31-year-old Matias Moreira is showing its age. Without a positive result, the paper wrote, there is a real risk that the coach from Thanh Hóa province will have to leave.
Harry Kewell's Hà Nội lost their first two games, then beat Bắc Ninh 1-0 and defending champions Công an Hà Nội 2-1 with goals from Xuân Mạnh and Văn Tùng, according to Bongdaplus. Before those wins, the paper said, Hà Nội had gone 4 games without a victory in all competitions, and both teams have full-strength squads available. SGGP highlighted midfielder Kevin Felida's impact in midfield, along with the return of centre-back Ferreira Tadeu and the arrival of new striker Tournaire Aymeric.
History favours Hà Nội: Bongdaplus and Thanh Niên both said Đà Nẵng have drawn once and lost four times in the last five meetings. However, Thanh Niên pointed out that in the most recent meeting, in the National Cup, Đà Nẵng knocked Hà Nội out 4-3 on penalties. Kewell acknowledged that, saying Hà Nội were facing the team that had eliminated them from the cup and so had to keep pushing, Thanh Niên reported.
What comes next
The same four teams will meet in different pairings in round 6: Hà Nội will host Ninh Bình at Hàng Đẫy at 19:15 on 30 October 2026, and Công an TP.HCM will host Đà Nẵng at Thống Nhất at 18:00 on 1 November 2026.
