The Victory Cup 2026 organisers announced nominees in 11 categories on November 3, SGGP reported. The tenth edition has a total prize value of 750 million dong, including 100 million each for the leading male and female athlete awards.
Nominees across different sports
The men's names highlighted include footballer Nguyen Dinh Bac, volleyball player Nguyen Ngoc Thuan, wushu athlete Dinh Van Tam, jujitsu athlete Dao Hong Son, runner Ta Ngoc Tuong and weightlifter Tran Minh Tri.
The women's list includes Nguyen Thi Dieu Ly, Duong Thuy Vi, Nguyen Thuy Trang, Nguyen Thi Tam, Chau Ngoc Tuyet Sang and Nguyen Hong Thai. These are candidates rather than confirmed winners.
Expert council chairman Nguyen Hong Minh said nominations are based on results and professional assessment. Sports administration head Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet described the awards as recognition and encouragement for athletes and coaches.
Selection remains open before the gala
SGGP said outstanding National Games or Youth Olympic performances could produce additional nominations. The launch therefore does not close the field.
Other categories recognise coaches, young athletes, foreign experts, teams, collective performances and athletes with disabilities. The sports administration organises the programme with VTVCab and Vietcontent.
Dinh Van Tam separately received 25 million dong at the launch for winning Asian Games silver despite injury. That encouragement payment is distinct from winning an annual category. The next developments are any added nominations and assessment before the gala planned for January 2027; an exact ceremony date was not provided.
