A proposed change to Vietnam’s environmental rules would require producers and importers to collect electric-vehicle batteries for recycling from 2029. The proposed mandatory rate is 8% of batteries placed on the market in 2029–2031, rising to 15% over the following three years.
VnExpress reported that the draft is under consultation, so the dates and rates are not yet an enforceable obligation.
