Vietnamese lacquerware, woven bamboo and rattan goods, ceramics, horn crafts and premium gifts are being presented at the first part of MEGA SHOW 2026 in Hong Kong. The fair opened on October 20 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre and runs through October 23.

Twenty businesses join the exhibition area

Hanoi's Department of Industry and Trade worked with Vietnam's trade office in Hong Kong and other organisations to arrange 20 booths for 20 businesses. Their displays focus on established Vietnamese handicraft export categories.

Hoàng Minh Lâm, director of Hanoi's industrial promotion and trade promotion centre, described the event as an important meeting point for Asia-Pacific suppliers and international importers. He said participation helps Hanoi businesses and rural industrial producers present their manufacturing capabilities, promote brands and expand distribution contacts.

Nguyễn Ngọc Anh of Đoàn Kết 1 reported encouraging international visitor interest at his company's stand. Its handmade products come from craft villages around Phú Nghĩa in Hanoi's Chương Mỹ area. He identified buyers from the United States, Europe and Japan as important audiences for the company.

Materials and flexible orders attract attention

Country Road representative Jasmine Lauer praised Vietnamese craftsmanship and the use of natural materials. She also highlighted suppliers' willingness to accommodate smaller minimum orders, which can benefit brands of different sizes.

Founded in 1992, MEGA SHOW is described by the report as holding its 33rd edition, with more than 3,000 booths from 28 countries and territories. Managed by Comasia Limited, it covers gifts, housewares, decorations and handicrafts. Buyer comments indicate interest, but the report does not establish the value of newly signed export contracts.
