European trade commissioner Maros Sefcovic is scheduled to visit Beijing on October 8 for two days of meetings with Chinese officials, VietnamPlus reported. The talks aim to address trade disputes and reduce the risk of escalation amid EU concerns over imbalances in goods trade. Brussels is also preparing trade-defense tools, while experts cited in the article caution against expecting an immediate comprehensive breakthrough. The meetings remain a forthcoming diplomatic engagement. Their announcement does not mean an agreement has already been reached or that existing tariffs have been removed.
