Vietnam’s National Power Transmission Corporation, EVNNPT, expects to need around VND204 trillion in borrowing for approximately 220 projects through 2030, according to the government news portal. The estimate excludes high-voltage direct-current projects and transmission for nuclear generation. EVNNPT is pursuing ODA, international commercial loans, Vietnam Development Bank financing and domestic credit. Among completed agreements, three direct loans from France’s AFD total EUR67 million. The wider funding requirement and proposals still being submitted are distinct from loans already committed or disbursed; the full projected amount has not been secured.
