The last two games of round 4 in Vietnam's second tier, the 2026/27 First Division (V.League 2), went in opposite directions on 24 October 2026. At the Tự Do Stadium at 15:30, Huế led CLB TP.HCM 2-0 but were pegged back to 2-2, the equaliser coming from an A Sân free kick. At 18:00, Hưng Yên beat Long An 3-1 despite playing with ten men from midway through the second half and without coach Bùi Đoàn Quang Huy on the touchline. According to Sportmonks data, Hưng Yên are second on 10 points, 2 points behind leaders Thái Nguyên.
Huế throw away a two-goal lead
Huế went into the game with 1 point from three rounds and, Tuổi Trẻ noted, without a single foreign player in their squad, yet they matched CLB TP.HCM in the first half. Công Hậu was twice denied one-on-one by goalkeeper Thanh Thắng, in the 24th and 29th minutes, before Bá Đức broke clear to score in the 35th. SGGP said the goal came from a hesitant clearance by the visitors' defence. At the other end Jermie Lynch had two good chances, one saved by Huế keeper Võ Đức Bảo and one that flashed wide, according to Tuổi Trẻ.
In the 67th minute Công Hậu went past defender Hồng Quang on a quick counter-attack and beat Thanh Thắng to make it 2-0. Only two minutes later, Tuổi Trẻ wrote, Quang Trường won the ball on the right and crossed for Lynch to tap in. Bongdaplus and SGGP both timed the 2-2 equaliser in the 76th minute: A Sân, a former HAGL player, curled a direct free kick into the far corner after Lâm Sơn fouled just outside the box. Huế coach Lê Chí Nguyện made a triple substitution in the 79th minute, but CLB TP.HCM held on.
Huế now have 2 points from 4 games and sit 12th of 14, still waiting for a first win. Nguyễn Minh Phương's CLB TP.HCM have 4 points and are 10th, having lost their two previous matches.
Ten-man Hưng Yên still win
Coach Bùi Đoàn Quang Huy watched from the stands after picking up 3 yellow cards in the previous three rounds, Thanh Niên reported, with the game played at the PVF stadium. Hưng Yên dominated from the start, especially down the right through Trịnh Đức Lợi and Vũ Văn Quyết, and Nguyễn Ngọc Toàn headed them in front in the 28th minute.
Early in the second half Long An equalised from a set piece, Hà Vũ Em curling a free kick from the edge of the area past veteran goalkeeper Huỳnh Tuấn Linh to make it 1-1. Thanh Niên and SGGP put that goal in the 50th minute, Bongdaplus in the 51st. The parity did not last: in the 52nd minute Joseph Khalio headed in from close range from a Trịnh Đức Lợi pass to restore the lead at 2-1.
Hưng Yên centre-back Nguyễn Mạnh Hưng was then shown a straight red card for a dangerous challenge on Hà Vũ Em; Thanh Niên recorded it in the 61st minute, Bongdaplus in the 63rd. Even with ten men the hosts scored again in the 67th minute. According to Thanh Niên, a Long An clearance hit the crossbar and dropped to an unmarked Khalio, who headed in his second of the night for 3-1.
SGGP said Long An remain 13th on 1 point, level with Xuân Thiện Phú Thọ but ahead on the tiebreaker.
