Huế earned their first win of the 2026–27 First Division season by beating Đại học Văn Hiến 1-0 on 6 November. Lê Xuân Đăng scored in the 90th minute of the round-seven opener at Bà Rịa, SGGP reported.

The home side played with ten men from the 64th minute after Trần Anh Thi received a straight red card. Huế increased the pressure with the extra player and eventually made a set piece count.

First-half chances for the hosts

Đại học Văn Hiến began on the front foot. In the 25th minute Trương Văn Thái Quý worked the ball outside the penalty area and shot from near its edge, but goalkeeper Võ Đức Bảo kept it out. Six minutes later the same player sent another effort over the bar.

Huế’s notable response came in the 39th minute. Hoàng Công Hậu carried the ball forward and shot from more than 20 metres, with Nguyễn Thanh Tuấn holding the attempt. SGGP described it as the visitors’ most notable shot of the first half.

Red card and late winner

The turning point followed Vi Đình Thượng’s long pass towards Nguyễn Mạnh Lâm Sơn. Trần Anh Thi pulled back the Huế player and referee Trần Văn Trọng showed a straight red card in the 64th minute.

Despite being a player short, the hosts nearly scored in the 83rd minute when Lương Quốc Thắng missed with an unmarked close-range header. In the 90th minute Nguyễn Bá Đức sent a free kick into a dangerous area and Xuân Đăng finished from close range for the only goal.

SGGP said Huế moved to five points and provisionally 11th, while Văn Hiến stayed on 11 points in sixth. Those positions can change as the rest of the round is completed. Bongdaplus also identified the result as Huế’s first win of the season. More: Vietnam football news.
