The ISA 7s World Cup 2026 has drawn twenty community teams into five groups for an upcoming Hanoi event. Bao Van Hoa reported on October 17 that matches are planned for October 31 and November 1 at Hoang Mai stadium in Hoang Liet ward.
The seven-a-side competition involves international communities living, studying and working in Vietnam. Its name does not make it FIFA's national-team World Cup.
Five groups of four
Host Vietnam is in Group B with teams named England, France and Mexico. Group A contains South Korea, Latin America, Denmark and Nigeria; Group C has Ghana, Italy, Japan and Cuba.
Spain, Brazil, Algeria and a Europe team form Group D. Ireland, South Africa, Russia and China are in Group E. These are community-team labels rather than confirmation of official national squads.
Each side fields six outfield players and a goalkeeper. The five group winners and best runner-up advance directly to the quarter-finals. The other four runners-up enter playoffs for the remaining two places.
Programme and prizes
The opening and group matches are scheduled for October 31. Knockout rounds, the final and awards are planned for November 1.
Organisers introduced a trophy design, medals and playing kit. Announced prizes are VND60 million for first place, VND30 million for second and VND15 million for third, totalling VND105 million. These are prospective awards.
Organiser representative Alex Castaneda highlighted cultural exchange, community connections and fair play. The stated aims concern the event's social role; results and attendance will depend on the competition itself.
