Runners in the 85-kilometre event set off from the Valley of Love in Đà Lạt early on 7 November, opening the 2026 Lamdong Trail. The longest route takes competitors into the Lang Biang biosphere reserve, Tuổi Trẻ reported.
More than 5,600 athletes from over 35 countries are taking part in the event’s fifth edition. It is one of the sporting activities held ahead of the Đà Lạt Flower Festival.
From pine forest to hills
The newspaper described routes passing pine forests, grass hills, coffee gardens, streams and slopes of red basalt soil. On the 85km course, the hardest sections are concentrated in the first half.
Runners climb Lang Biang around kilometres 15–20. The route then crosses old-growth Bidoup forest between kilometres 35 and 45, where the surface can be slippery and requires careful technique. The stretch from kilometres 55 to 65 passes Đạ Sar hills, forest and streams, placing more emphasis on endurance. Wild sunflowers line parts of the final stretch.
The newspaper described the section after Bidoup as easier before the course reaches the Đạ Sar hills.
The remaining distances
In the schedule published by Tuổi Trẻ on 7 November, the 15km, 25km and 55km events were also set for that day. The 5km and children’s 5km runs were planned for 8 November.
The Lâm Đồng provincial government and Greenhat jointly organise the race. Provincial culture, sports and tourism official Huỳnh Ngọc Tâm said the event forms part of the area’s tourism development, connecting visitors with nature, local culture and communities.
Tuổi Trẻ also reported that organisers supported the planting of 2,000 trees in woodland near the Valley of Love. The event’s seasonal theme centres on exploration and personal limits.
