VFF president Trần Quốc Tuấn and general secretary Nguyễn Văn Phú are scheduled to attend the AFC conference for presidents and general secretaries of member and regional associations in Tokyo. The two-day meeting opens on 21 October.
The programme focuses on emerging requirements in football governance and development. VFF's announcement sets out participation plans and discussion topics rather than decisions already adopted.
Leadership, technology and development
Delegates will consider innovation and global trends in preventing match manipulation, alongside the qualities required of Asian football leaders. Artificial intelligence in strategy and operations is another scheduled subject.
The conference also covers women's football development and member associations' capacity to implement programmes. Strategic investment in refereeing, planning, and the construction of standards and regulations across AFC competitions form further parts of the agenda.
The stated aim is stronger coordination between the AFC and its members, supporting improved governance and sustainable development through specialist exchanges.
Further meeting on 23 October
First held in Tashkent in 2023, the conference has become an annual forum for Asian football leaders to share experience and discuss direction. This year's edition follows a World Cup featuring nine Asian teams and continued changes to the confederation's club competitions.
After the conference, the two VFF officials are due to attend the 2026 AFC Extraordinary Congress in Tokyo on 23 October. Trần Quốc Tuấn will participate in his capacity as an AFC Executive Committee member, continuing the sequence of meetings announced by the federation.
