Ngo Bao Ngoc has withdrawn from plans to enter the second MGI All Stars season, according to a November 2 announcement reported by Tuoi Tre and VnExpress. The decision followed discussions over the possibility of more than one Vietnamese contestant joining the same edition.

A disagreement over strategy

The Miss Grand Vietnam organisation said multiple representatives could divide audience and media support and create comparisons that did not fit its original investment strategy. It expressed respect for the international organiser’s direction while deciding to stop its own plan for Bao Ngoc.

VnExpress reported a Ho Chi Minh City press conference at which Bao Ngoc said repeated discussions had not produced agreement. Her team had already worked on an introduction video, application images and clothing.

The decision concerns her participation and supporting organisation. It does not establish that every potential Vietnamese contestant has withdrawn, and the reports did not identify all other possible entrants.

A separate entry system

VnExpress explained that All Stars allows independent registration without necessarily going through a domestic franchise holder. Multiple contestants from one country are therefore part of the format rather than a newly established prohibition being breached.

The first season in Thailand in May featured 56 contestants from 38 countries and territories, with several countries represented more than once. Vietnam’s Huong Giang finished as second runner up. Ngo Bao Ngoc was first runner up at Miss Grand Vietnam 2026.

The second All Stars season is scheduled for November 26–December 12 in Thailand. Further contestant and programme announcements are the next milestone for the competition. The reports did not announce a specific replacement contest for Bao Ngoc.
