Three chapters on national unity

The first chapter focused on the Viet Bac revolutionary base. In the second, folk calls from the north, centre and south led into Trinh Cong Son's song. The final chapter opened with a torch relay from the President Ho Chi Minh memorial at ATK Dinh Hoa, with veterans handing the flame to young people. A symphony orchestra conducted by Dong Quang Vinh played throughout, with MCs Le Anh and Phi Linh.
A first for Thai Nguyen
VTV called it the largest music stage ever built in Thai Nguyen, using 3D mapping, lasers and large-scale effects, and said it was the first major music event held in the northern midland and mountain region. Admission was free, with high-altitude fireworks, and organisers set up LED screens, sound, lighting and fireworks at two viewing sites, Van Xuan square and the Song Cau pedestrian street square in Bac Kan ward.
Thanh Nien put the crowd at about 30,000; VTV said the stands and pitch were filled by nearly 30,000. Senior officials including Politburo member Trinh Van Quyet, head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission, and Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra attended.
What comes next
VTV said the concert looks ahead to the National Great Unity Day, Vietnam Culture Day (24 November) and the 80th anniversary of the Nationwide Resistance Day (19 December), as well as the 195th anniversary of the province's founding. The concert is part of an annual series.
