Ninh Binh beat Hai Phong 4–1 at Lach Tray on 5 September in the opening round of V.League 2026/27. Lucao Vinicius scored a hat-trick and Nguyen Le Phat added the other goal. The visitors had to recover from falling behind to Milan Makaric before half-time.
Four goals after the interval
VPF’s match record places Makaric’s opener in the 40th minute. Lucao equalised in the 51st, and Le Phat put Ninh Binh ahead three minutes later. Lucao then scored twice more during the second half to complete his hat-trick.
The sequence split the match into two contrasting halves. Hai Phong reached the interval with a one-goal advantage, only for Ninh Binh to take the lead early in the second period. Rather than finish with a narrow 2–1 win, the visitors extended the margin.
Familiar faces return to Lach Tray
VnExpress reported that coach Chu Dinh Nghiem was facing Hai Phong after leaving the club in May. Lucao, Fred Friday and Dung Quang Nho had also played for the hosts. Those connections added a personal dimension to an opening-round fixture.
Ninh Binh finished with three points and a goal difference of plus three. One result is only a starting point: maintaining that attacking return in subsequent matches will matter more than a temporary position in the table.
