Olaha Mạnh Đức scored the only goal as CA TP HCM beat Thể Công 1-0 at Gò Đậu on October 19 in round four of the 2026-27 V-League. The hosts held on despite a red card and late pressure involving a penalty decision overturned after VAR review.

CA TP HCM moved to fifth with seven points. Thể Công remain on three points in 12th after losing their past three league games.

Second-half pressure produces the winner

After a quiet first half, Tiến Linh had an effort deflected wide in the 48th minute. Ferreira Aldair then hit the crossbar two minutes later.

Substitute Williams Minh Hoàng helped create the breakthrough in the 68th minute. His low delivery was cleared by Lương Chí Khải towards Olaha, who scored with his second attempt.

It was Olaha's first league goal of the season, alongside one assist. He had also scored in the 1-1 draw with Ratchaburi in the ASEAN club competition on October 7.

Hosts survive a difficult closing spell

Nguyễn Đức Phú was sent off after a challenge on Trần Danh Trung. Thể Công pushed forward with the extra player, but Patrik Lê Giang saved from Nhâm Mạnh Dũng in the second minute of added time.

Referee Trần Ngọc Nhớ initially awarded the visitors a penalty in the fifth added minute following an incident involving Hoàng Phúc and Lucas Ribamar. He reversed the decision after reviewing VAR.

Olaha, formerly Michael Olaha, received Vietnamese citizenship in August. After earlier spells at SLNA and in Israel, he joined CA TP HCM this season and now has a decisive league contribution for his new club.
