The prime minister approved expansion of Ha Tinh's Vung Ang Economic Zone through Decision 1918 on October 2. The Government News portal puts the enlarged area at approximately 72,998 hectares, comprising 57,998 hectares of land and 15,000 hectares of sea. Priorities include core industries, ports, logistics, energy and manufacturing. Planning and preparation are scheduled for 2026-2027, followed by a longer development roadmap to 2050; expansion approval does not mean all projects are complete.
