Shin Min-a says she wanted Navier to retain both imperial resolve and recognisably human emotions in The Remarried Empress. Yonhap reports her comments from a November 3 Seoul press conference. The series began its release that day, one day earlier than originally planned, as also reported by Variety and Tuổi Trẻ.

Finding the character beneath the crown

The fictional story places Navier in a marriage disrupted by Sovieshu's relationship with Rashta. Instead of simply competing for the emperor's affection, she pursues a different course with Heinrey's help. Ju Ji-hoon, Lee Se-young and Lee Jong-suk play those characters.

Shin described balancing subtle emotional changes with Navier's public authority. Director Cho Su-won sought a tone between the more serious web novel and its brighter webtoon adaptation. The completed adaptation runs to ten episodes, rather than releasing all ten at once.

Building a live-action fantasy world

Variety identifies Schleissheim Palace near Munich as the principal European location after scouting in several countries. Costumes and visual effects help create the imagined court. Another challenge was Queen, the bird associated with Heinrey; Lee said the effects team drew on his movements and characterisation.

Variety says the first three episodes had screened in Busan's On Screen section before four episodes launched on November 3. Shin watched documentaries about foreign royalty as visual references, then concentrated on the script to develop Navier. Audiences can now follow that interpretation through the ten-episode adaptation.
