Gareth Taylor says Ceri Holland will not be ready for Liverpool Women's meeting with Arsenal at Anfield. Writing on Liverpool's website, the coach said she might return to training a day before that game and expressed hope for the subsequent trip to Brighton.

Lessons from West Ham

Taylor identified Liverpool's management of the early stages as a problem in the defeat at West Ham. He said the team sometimes won duels but then lost possession through insufficiently precise passes.

His assessment highlighted West Ham's counter-attacking speed through Kelly Gago and Viviane Asseyi, with Riko Ueki available from the bench. Liverpool were three goals behind at half-time, and Taylor thanked supporters for continuing to back the players.

He wants the training week to address those shortcomings before Arsenal. The coach also noted difficulties with Liverpool's final entries into attacking areas, alongside the absence of Holland and Aurelie Csillag.

Three WSL fixtures ahead

The next league sequence listed by Taylor is Arsenal at Anfield, Brighton away and Chelsea at St Helens. He described the task as rebuilding the players for those assignments while working with the options available.

Arsenal's own website reports that Renee Slegers has been preparing her squad at the Sobha Realty Training Centre before the Liverpool trip.

For Taylor, the immediate step is the Anfield match, followed by the Brighton fixture he hopes Holland can reach. Her return remains part of the coach's recovery and selection planning.
