Nicole Taylor, one-third of country trio Taylor Red, has died at 35. Variety reports that she died at home in Nashville on September 28 after breast cancer, according to the family. Sisters and bandmates Nika and Natalie announced the death in a November 2 video, distinguishing the date of death from its public announcement.

The group’s musical path

The identical triplets grew up in southern Mississippi and began performing as Red Roots in 2010. They released three albums before adopting the Taylor Red name in 2018, combining country influences with close harmonies and several instruments.

The group's guitar, banjo, fiddle and mandolin work developed alongside social-media videos featuring synchronised performances, covers and comedy. Variety had included them in a 2020 report about female groups using TikTok to reach audiences outside established industry channels. Their 2021 song Country Money became one of their better-known releases.

A family’s remembrance

Nika and Natalie described Nicole as their leader and best friend. Their tribute says she retained her faith and continued exercise, travel and work during treatment. The family describes a stage-three breast-cancer diagnosis in 2022, an initial period without evidence of disease, and later recurrence progressing to stage four.

The family has held a private funeral. In the website tribute and November 2 video, Nika and Natalie remember Nicole, older than them by minutes, as their leader and closest friend.
