Taylor Swift and La Bola Negra song La Nieve are among the Hollywood Music in Media Awards nominees, Variety reported. The awards recognise composers, songwriters, supervisors and performers working across film, television, games and other visual media. Winners are scheduled to be revealed on November 18 at Avalon Hollywood.

Songs in different categories

I Knew It, I Knew You, written by Swift and Jack Antonoff for Toy Story 5, received an animated film song nomination. Variety described it as playing at the film’s end and connecting with Jessie’s character.

La Nieve is nominated in the independent film song category. Written by Alvaro Lafuente, Raul Refree and Lucas Duran, it is performed by Guitarricadelafuente. The two songs therefore appear in separate categories rather than directly competing for one award.

Composers across formats

Daniel Pemberton and Mina Samy each received four nominations. Pemberton’s work spans Project Hail Mary, The Drama, Slow Horses and a song from Musk. Samy’s nominations involve Ezma, the short Stopped and two contributions to The Death Ward.

Ludwig Goransson received three nominations connected with The Odyssey, covering its score, the song When I’m Home and the song’s music video. The selection illustrates how one production can generate distinct contributions across musical forms.

The next milestone is the November 18 ceremony. Until then, the announcements identify nominees rather than winners. Previous HMMA recipients’ later Oscar success provides historical context, but does not determine the Academy Awards prospects of this year’s nominated work.
