Thailand rested midfielder Chanathip Songkrasin in its 4-0 win over Pakistan ahead of the September 29 meeting with Vietnam. Dan Tri cited Indonesian media's view that the decision reflected Thailand's preparation for its next 2026 FIFA ASEAN Cup Group B match.

Resting him in the opener does not confirm a starting place or playing time against Vietnam.
